Flying 'round and 'round

Tall and skinny, round and round-what fun!  I am combining four challenges with this one card.  A record for me!  The sketch and color inspiration is from Fusion #7.  I love it when it all comes together.  I love the dress form with words written on it.  I was able to use another page from my old drug book from nursing school. I haven't used these ovals from Spellbinders in a while.  The sentiment is embossed in gold, the bee is stamps in HA Black Ink, the stitching lines are hand drawn.  CAS on Sunday #30 is looking for real or faux stitching lines.  Less is More Lucky Dip Week 165 theme is round and round. The card size is so unique and fun to play with.  Easier than I thought.  Just us Girls #234 Wild Card is using a tall and skinny card.  This beauty is 3.5inx5.5in.

"Less is More"CAS On Sunday Challenge

Stacked Owls

I have been eyeing this set from Paper Smooches for quite some time.  They are so darn cute!  I colored them with pencils and then blended with baby oil and fantastix.  I masked the biggest owl to stamp the tree branch.  The branch in the set wasn't long enough to my liking so I didn't ink the end and just drew a like to extend the branch.  The two smaller owls I fussy cut and placed on the card.

I am entering this in two new challenge for me: CAS Colours and Sketches Challenge #67.  This week they are offering a sketch.  The other new challenge is Paper Smooches SPARKS Anything Goes

Hey Sweets

Such a wonderful week, with goodies arriving that I ordered last week.  I ordered this adorable set from Neat & Tangled.  I paper pieced the frosting, with shading done with pencils.  The sequins are from Lawn Fawn Hello Sunshine mix.  I've had the papers/cs for years and not a clue where I got them.

I think the colors in Color Throwdown #285 is the perfect color combination.  I am sure I think that because it has green!  And one of my favorite challenges to participate in is Freshly Made Sketches #129 is perfect for clean and simple cards.

Happy Birthday Maria

What a wonderful day!  A day to celebrate Maria's birthday!  She is quite a card maker.  I am joining up with other well-wishers over at shirley-bee's stamping stuff and loading up my card.

I wanted to try my hand at this technique that I saw this week.  Kristina Werner posted a video where she used distressed markers, added water to soften/blend the colors, dried the card.  Okay, I've done all that before.  The part that intrigued me is the water spots.  She sprayed water in her hand and let the water drip from her hand onto the card.  Then with a dry cloth, dry up the water and you get these great faded spots.

This is the perfect background for my birthday card. I off set the YOU intentional.

Happy Birthday Maria!

Trio of Balloons

This was a multi media card.  For the backgound, I used Gelatos for the top two layers and ink pad at the bottom.  The balloons were all colored with pencils, smoothed with baby oil and fantastix.  The 'land' at the bottom I used a black distressed marker.  Whew!

Color Throwdown 284 was my inspiration.  Just Us Girl #233 inspiration photo has a gorgeous hot air balloon.  I have never been on one, too scared.  I've been to several events where hot air balloons are the main attraction and at night they have a "Glow".  Very fun!
